Maximo Infrastructure Architect/Engineer

Join the company and take technical ownership of the platforms that organizations depend on to manage their critical assets. We are looking for an experienced IBM Maximo Infrastructure Architect to lead complete Maximo Application Suite 9 implementations for clients around the world.
This is a fully remote role, with the opportunity to work from our Dubai offices, planned to open in 2027. You will work across multiple client engagements and industry verticals through our nearshore delivery model, combining architecture leadership with hands-on installation and engineering. Alongside client delivery, you will contribute to the company AI, building the infrastructure and integrations that support AI-enabled asset management. What You Will Do

• Lead complete MAS 9 implementations, overseeing all aspects including infrastructure discovery, architecture, sizing, prerequisite validation, installation, configuration, testing, production go-live, and operational handover.
• Design and build secure, resilient MAS 9 environments on Red Hat OpenShift across IBM Cloud, Microsoft Azure, AWS, private cloud, and on-premises deployments.
• Deploy core applications, including installing and configuring MAS core, Maximo Manage, industry solutions, and relevant add-ons in collaboration with functional and application specialists.
• Deliver upgrades and migrations, planning environment readiness, migration rehearsals, cutover procedures, rollback, and post-go-live support for clients transitioning from legacy Maximo or earlier MAS releases.
• Engineer for reliable operations by designing and validating high availability, backup, restoration, and disaster recovery, while using Prometheus and Grafana to establish monitoring, performance baselines, and capacity plans.
• Automate delivery utilizing IBM MAS CLI, Ansible, Terraform, and OpenShift Pipelines/Tekton to create repeatable builds and controlled deployment workflows.
• Work directly with global clients, leading technical workshops, explaining design decisions, managing infrastructure dependencies, and producing clear architecture documents and runbooks.
• Contribute to the company AI by collaborating with AI and data specialists on secure hosting, connectivity, and integration between Maximo environments, enterprise data, and AI applications.
• Strengthen our delivery team by troubleshooting complex issues, mentoring engineers, and sharing practical lessons across international projects.

Essential Experience

• Proven full end-to-end MAS 9 installation experience; you must have personally led or delivered complete production implementations from infrastructure preparation through go-live and handover.
• Delivery across multiple industry verticals with demonstrable Maximo/MAS experience in sectors such as energy and utilities, renewables, rail and transport, manufacturing, aviation, oil and gas, or facilities management.
• Strong Red Hat OpenShift expertise with hands-on experience with the oc CLI, operators, containers, persistent storage, networking, certificates, security, and platform troubleshooting.
• Enterprise infrastructure knowledge with strong Linux skills and experience with DNS, load balancing, TLS, identity integration, and access control.
• Cloud and deployment architecture experience with Maximo/MAS infrastructure across IBM Cloud, Microsoft Azure, and Amazon Web Services (AWS), including networking, storage, security, availability, and hybrid connectivity.
• Database platforms and SQL; hands-on experience with IBM Db2, Oracle Database, and Microsoft SQL Server for Maximo Manage, including connectivity, SQL troubleshooting, and migrations.
• Experience deploying, configuring, securing, and monitoring Apache Kafka for Maximo integrations and event streaming as needed by the solution architecture.
• Production delivery discipline experience with release-specific compatibility checks, upgrades, performance tuning, recovery testing, and technical documentation.
• Confident client communication skills, capable of leading technical discussions, explaining trade-offs, and collaborating with various teams.
• Effective remote working ability to manage priorities across client engagements with agreed time-zone overlap for international delivery.

DevOps Tools and Platforms

• Strong MAS automation and OpenShift skills are essential; the wider toolset will vary by client project.
• Experience with MAS automation, IBM MAS CLI, and Ansible, specifically with the ibm.mas_devops collection.
• Proficient in infrastructure as code and scripting, using Terraform, YAML, and Bash or Python for provisioning, configuration, and repeatable operational tasks.
• Familiarity with version control and CI/CD tools, including Git and one or more of Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or Azure DevOps for controlled changes and deployment pipelines.
• Knowledge of container tooling including OpenShift oc, Podman or Docker, and image registries such as Red Hat Quay.
• Experience with GitOps and configuration tools like Argo CD/OpenShift GitOps; familiarity with Helm and Kustomize is advantageous.
• Monitoring and alerting setup using Prometheus and Grafana for infrastructure and application metrics, dashboards, and operational alerts.

Additional Experience We Value
