Responsibilities

  • Responsible for creating and driving their sales pipeline, capturing leads outside of specialization and using closed-loop lead management to ensure assignment and follow-up.
  • Maintain knowledge of competitors in the account to strategically position the company's products and services.
  • Use specialty expertise to seek out new opportunities and expand existing opportunities to build the pipeline and drive pursuit.
  • Provide support to Account Managers and input regarding business development and solution expertise.
  • Establish a professional, consultative relationship with clients, including those at the C-level for mid-to-large accounts, by understanding their unique business needs.

Requirements

  • University or Bachelor's degree with directly related previous work experience.
  • Demonstrated achievement of progressively higher quotas and higher-level customer interface.
  • Extensive selling experience within the industry and on similar products, typically 8-12 years of advanced sales experience.
  • Project management skills required with 2-3 years of product sales in the desired specialty.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Expert knowledge of products, solutions, or service offerings as well as competitor offerings to sell large solutions effectively.
  • Understanding of the industry and market segment relevant to key accounts and ability to integrate that knowledge into consultative selling.
  • Ability to collaborate with management and sales teams in shared accounts to ensure seamless integration of specialist sales with other sales activities.
  • Proven success in driving specialty sales in accounts—prospecting, negotiating, and closing deals with a deep understanding of IT at all levels.
