Mechanical Draftsman

About the Role
This position involves preparing and coordinating mechanical drawings for various HVAC and MEP systems. You will be responsible for developing layouts, as-built drawings, and installation drawings using AutoCAD. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems and the ability to work collaboratively with various engineering disciplines to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare mechanical shop drawings, installation drawings, and as-built drawings using AutoCAD.
• Develop HVAC duct layouts, chilled water piping layouts, and ventilation drawings.
• Prepare equipment layouts, sections, details, and mechanical installation drawings.
• Create drawings for air conditioning systems, exhaust systems, fresh air systems, and ventilation systems.
• Coordinate mechanical drawings with electrical, plumbing, firefighting, and other MEP services.
• Review drawings against approved design drawings, project specifications, and consultant requirements.
• Incorporate consultant comments and revise drawings as required.
• Ensure drawings comply with applicable UAE standards, project specifications, and authority requirements.
• Coordinate with mechanical engineers, MEP coordinators, site teams, and consultants.
• Prepare as-built drawings based on actual site conditions and installation details.

Requirements

• Diploma or ITI in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in mechanical drafting, preferably in UAE MEP projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit MEP is an advantage.
• Good understanding of HVAC systems, ductwork, piping layouts, and MEP coordination.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Strong coordination skills and the ability to meet project deadlines.
