Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and BOQs for mechanical and HVAC works in MEP projects.
- Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, and scope of work to identify project requirements.
- Perform quantity take-offs for HVAC ductwork, chilled water piping, ventilation systems, and mechanical equipment.
- Prepare material, labour, equipment, and installation cost breakdowns.
- Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations to ensure competitive pricing.
- Prepare technical and commercial tender submissions.
- Analyse project drawings and identify discrepancies, missing details, and potential cost variations.
- Prepare rate analysis, cost comparisons, and budget estimates.
- Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, consultants, and internal project teams.
- Prepare variation claims, additional work quotations, and revised cost estimates.
- Follow up with suppliers and subcontractors for updated prices and technical offers.
- Ensure estimates are accurate and submitted within tender deadlines.
- Provide technical and commercial support during tender negotiations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 4–6 years of experience in mechanical estimation, preferably in UAE MEP contracting companies.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, chilled water piping, ductwork, ventilation, and mechanical equipment.
- Experience in BOQ preparation, quantity take-offs, cost estimation, and rate analysis.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Excel.
- Knowledge of UAE market rates, supplier pricing, and subcontractor quotations.
- Ability to read and interpret MEP drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
- Good negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
- Experience in high-rise buildings, commercial projects, and residential developments is preferred.
