We are seeking a Mechanical Rotating Equipment Engineer with expertise in the selection, design review, engineering, and technical evaluation of rotating equipment utilized in Oil & Gas and industrial settings. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in rotating equipment performance, mechanical integrity, and have a comprehensive understanding of applicable API and ISO standards, along with EPC engineering practices.
Responsibilities
- Engage in the selection and evaluation of rotating equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Conduct design reviews and technical assessments of centrifugal pumps, positive displacement pumps, compressors, blowers, fans, turbines, and related auxiliary systems.
- Review equipment selection, performance curves, hydraulic operating conditions, NPSH, efficiency, power requirements, and operating envelopes.
- Assess mechanical seals, bearing systems, lubrication systems, couplings, shaft alignment, and vibration monitoring setups.
- Analyze rotating equipment datasheets, technical specifications, vendor drawings, and performance test procedures.
- Perform vibration analysis, evaluate equipment reliability, conduct rotor dynamics assessments, and troubleshoot machinery issues.
- Ensure correct equipment foundation specifications, manage dynamic loading, nozzle loads, and piping interface requirements.
- Participate in technical bid evaluations, coordinate with vendors, and oversee Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and equipment inspections.
- Advise on installation, commissioning, start-up, and maintenance of rotating machinery.
- Collaborate with various engineering disciplines, including process, piping, electrical, instrumentation, and structural engineering.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in rotating equipment engineering, specifically in Oil & Gas EPC projects.
- Strong knowledge of equipment such as centrifugal pumps, positive displacement pumps, compressors, blowers, fans, turbines, and auxiliary systems.
- Familiarity with standards including API 610, API 617, API 618, API 619, API 674, API 675, API 682, and ISO 5199.
- Proficient understanding of mechanical seals, bearing systems, lubrication systems, couplings, shaft alignment, and vibration monitoring.
- Experience in evaluating technical specifications and performance test procedures for rotating equipment.
- Familiarity with equipment reliability, rotor dynamics, and machinery troubleshooting methodologies.
- Understanding of installation, commissioning, start-up, and maintenance requirements for rotating machinery.
- Familiarity with ADNOC specifications and applicable API, ASME, and ISO standards.
- Strong coordination skills with other engineering disciplines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with offshore projects.
- Knowledge of equipment condition monitoring systems.
