About the Role
As a Mechanical Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading teams of technicians and subcontractors on a daily basis. You will motivate and delegate work to ensure that daily targets are clearly identified and achieved, while ensuring that all work is performed efficiently and effectively in accordance with scheduling, health, safety, and quality requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily supervision and monitoring of mechanical activities in the workshop.
  • Coordinate and supervise workshop teams and subcontractors, ensuring timely and safe completion of tasks to required standards.
  • Allocate work and oversee project schedule adherence.
  • Conduct daily checks on all plant and equipment to maintain optimal efficiency.
  • Create, allocate, and control shift requirements for all teams/subcontractors while maintaining relevant records.
  • Assist teams with issue resolution and cover for other supervisors as necessary.
  • Ensure deadlines for teams and subcontractors are met without delays.
  • Be directly accountable for day-to-day project stakeholder requirements.
  • Stay updated on new products and improved working methods to enhance quality and reduce costs.
  • Accurately complete project documentation and reports.
  • Identify corrective actions and implement countermeasures to maximize productivity.
  • Manage all aspects of plant and equipment, including hires, off-hires, breakdowns, and corrective actions.
  • Ensure timely identification, sourcing, and delivery of materials and consumables to minimize project disruptions while controlling stock.
  • Maintain effective health and safety systems, including risk assessments, method statements, and toolbox talks.
  • Work within specified accuracy limits or standards.
  • Charge project hours based on manpower utilized.

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must:

  • Hold a bachelor's degree in engineering or a high school diploma.
  • Have 3+ years of experience in mechanical activities, including assembly of pipes and equipment, welding, and testing.
  • Possess knowledge of packaging manufacturing operations.
  • Be fully flexible regarding working hours, including days and weekends.
  • Demonstrate the ability to prioritize work and accommodate conflicting requests while ensuring day-to-day project functionality.
  • Exhibit excellent HSE knowledge and standards.
  • Accurately identify project faults quickly, especially under pressure.
