Key Accountabilities
Mechanical Maintenance
- Carry out required daily mechanical maintenance work and routine preventative maintenance according to set schedules and procedures to facilitate continuous operations.
- Monitor the physical condition of all machines in the assigned plant and report non-conformances to the Mechanical Engineer / Supervisor to facilitate effective maintenance.
- Respond to mechanical failures and implement corrective actions to reduce downtime and maximize equipment functionality.
- Troubleshoot using necessary tools and spare parts, including diagnosis, repairs, and checking for corrosion, cracks, leaks, and failures.
- Diagnose causes of mechanical malfunction or failure of operational equipment and take corrective measures in collaboration with the Mechanical Engineer / Supervisor.
- Read and understand technical manuals, mechanical diagrams, and machinery drawings to apply the knowledge in maintenance and troubleshooting tasks.
Inventory
- Check the necessary stock levels of spare parts to support effective inventory control.
Documentation
- Update the maintenance logbook and record details of work carried out, including defaults, problems, and conditions of all machines to ensure organized referencing.
Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to the identification and implementation of change initiatives, programmes, and projects in line with the organization’s standards.
Policies, Processes, Systems & Procedures
- Adhere to all relevant organizational and departmental policies, processes, and standard operating procedures to ensure work is carried out consistently and to the required standard.
Health, Safety, Security & Environment
- Follow all relevant health, safety, security, and environmental procedures, instructions, and controls to guarantee employee safety and environmental compliance.
Related Assignments
- Perform any other duties as required by the line manager.
Qualifications, Experience, & Skills
Minimum Qualifications:
- A technical certificate / Associate’s Diploma in Mechanical Maintenance.
Minimum Experience:
- 3-5 years’ experience as a technician in the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment and installations in a plant environment.
Skills:
- Practical knowledge of relevant plant equipment.
- Practical knowledge of mechanical maintenance principles including waste identification, classification, disposal, and emission monitoring.
- Awareness of HSE & quality standards.
- Teamwork and effective collaboration skills.
