We are seeking an experienced MEP Lead (Design) to join a major, technically complex development as it transitions into the delivery phase. This role will be responsible for leading and coordinating all MEP design activities to align with project requirements and ensure readiness for construction delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage all MEP design activities across the project, ensuring coordination, quality, and compliance with project standards.
  • Oversee the transition of MEP design from detailed design through to construction, ensuring design deliverables are complete, coordinated, and buildable.
  • Act as the primary interface between design consultants, contractors, and the wider PMC team for all MEP-related matters.
  • Review and approve MEP design packages, ensuring alignment with project specifications, codes, and performance requirements.
  • Drive design coordination across disciplines, resolving interface issues between MEP, architectural, structural, and specialist systems.
  • Provide technical leadership on complex MEP systems, including mechanical cooling, electrical distribution, ELV, and specialist infrastructure.
  • Support value engineering initiatives, identifying opportunities to optimize design, cost, and programme without compromising quality.
  • Ensure design delivery aligns with programme milestones, proactively identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Champion health, safety, and sustainability considerations within the design process.
  • Support construction teams during mobilization and delivery, providing technical guidance and resolving design-related queries.
  • Contribute to project reporting, highlighting design progress, risks, and key technical issues for senior stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Extensive experience operating at a senior level within MEP design, ideally in PMC/consultancy environments.
  • Proven track record delivering large-scale, MEP-intensive or mission-critical developments.
  • Strong technical expertise across a broad range of MEP systems, with the ability to lead multidisciplinary coordination.
  • Experience managing the transition from design through to construction/delivery phases.
  • Strong knowledge of international design standards and codes; Middle East experience is highly desirable.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Strong commitment to health, safety, quality, and sustainability standards.
