The MEP Design Engineer - Electrical will be responsible for designing Electrical Lighting, Small Power, and ELV systems to ensure efficient electrical systems and controls within buildings. This role is pivotal during the design phase of MEP projects, where the engineer will provide efficient designs as per local codes and standards.

Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate with project teams to understand project requirements and objectives, developing Electrical Lighting, Small Power, and ELV systems design plans, specifications, and schematics for construction projects.
- Perform electrical system calculations to determine the sizing and type of cables, lighting, and other devices for reliable Lighting, Small Power, and ELV systems for residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.
- Develop detailed design calculations and drawings for Electrical Lighting, Small Power, and ELV systems procurements and installations.
- Ensure designs meet project requirements and adhere to local building codes and industry standards.
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive design documentation, including drawings, schematics, riser diagrams, cable schedules, equipment schedules, and technical reports.
- Work closely with project managers, architects, electrical engineers, and other team members to effectively integrate Electrical Lighting, Small Power, and ELV systems with other building services.
- Incorporate energy-efficient technologies and practices into designs to minimize environmental impact and reduce operational costs.
- Ensure compliance of all designs with local building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Provide technical support during the construction phase, including responding to RFI and ensuring proper installation and performance of Electrical Lighting, Small Power, and ELV systems.
- Conduct quality checks to verify the accuracy and completeness of design plans.
Job Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
Experience
- 5 years’ experience as an Electrical Design Engineer in MEP Projects.
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong proficiency in design software or tools for MEP installations.
- Familiarity with MEP systems and terminology, as well as understanding of construction practices and building codes.
- Strong knowledge of Electrical Lighting, Small Power, and ELV systems, components, and equipment, along with familiarity with building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
