MLRO (UAE)

About the Job: The MLRO will be responsible for developing and maintaining the AML/CTF compliance program, ensuring alignment with UAE laws and SCA requirements. Key responsibilities include monitoring and reporting suspicious transactions to the UAE Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU), managing risk assessments, customer due diligence (CDD), and enhanced due diligence (EDD). The MLRO will act as the point of contact with regulators, particularly the SCA, ensuring timely reporting and compliance, and leading the licensing efforts with the UAE Securities and Commodities Authority. Additionally, the role includes conducting staff training on AML/CTF regulations and procedures, overseeing internal and external audits, and maintaining proper records as per regulatory standards. The MLRO will continuously update AML policies to adapt to new threats and regulations, particularly focusing on SCA and applicable financial services guidelines.

Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, or related field; relevant certifications such as CAMS preferred. - Minimum 5 years of experience in AML compliance, preferably in cryptocurrency or finance. - Strong knowledge of UAE AML regulations and global standards (FATF); experience with SCA regulations or licensing processes is highly preferred. - Familiarity with blockchain and cryptocurrency; prior exposure to SCA-regulated environments is a plus.
