Minimum Required Qualifications
- Specialty certifications:
- CSWIP 3.1 or 3.2 or AWS - CWI or an approved equivalent
- NACE Level-II or BGAS Grade-II
- ASNT/PCN Level II in RT, UT, MT & PT or an approved equivalent
- Education: Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or HNC
- Additional Training:
- Site Safety Induction
- Sea Survival Course for Offshore Sites
- H2S Course if Required
- Specific Technical Induction for Specific Projects
Technical Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of International Codes & Standards such as ASME, API, ANSI, ASTM and BS
- Experience with Welding, NDT, Painting, Piping, Pressure Vessel, Aboveground storage Tanks, Pipeline Inspection according to relevant Codes
- Ability to apply Codes and Standards, project specifications and procedures
Experience
- Inspector/Technician: Minimum 5 years experience in similar field
- Engineer Surveyor: Minimum 8 years experience in similar field
- Senior Engineer Surveyor: Minimum 10 years experience in similar field
Responsibilities / Authorities / Accountabilities
- Review applicable contractual requirements (Technical standards, specifications, etc.)
- Define and review Quality Plan and relevant procedures
- Validate inspection assignment documentation (technical aspects, reference documentation, schedule, milestones, reporting, etc.)
- Select the appropriate inspection techniques
- Execute or supervise inspections according to the pre-defined Quality Plan
- Prepare and submit inspection reports in a timely manner
- Interpret results of inspections and manage Non-conformities
- Ensure quality of inspections according to the company Quality System
- Actively promote company services to clients
Technical Expertise
- Conduct activities as stated in Primary functions with full competency in relevant inspection techniques
- Verify and approve Non-conformities/corrective actions
- Identify required company interventions based on Quality Plan
Business Requirements
- Regularly report on inspections, non-compliance, and discrepancies to relevant managers
Self Management
- Maintain a high degree of expertise through specialized training and knowledge management
- Ensure inspections are carried out as per approved drawings and Inspection Test Plans
- Comply with company regulations, procedures, and Code of Ethics
Customer Focus
- Conduct inspections in accordance with approved documents and specifications
- Maintain regular communication with clients and project management consultants
- Understand client needs to achieve successful project outcomes
HSE Requirements
- Comply with all applicable legal requirements and local HSE policies
- Maintain tidy and hazard-free work areas
- Immediately report any HSE incidents and cooperate in investigations
- Use appropriate PPE and communicate any safety concerns
Performance Monitoring
- Continual development of technical and professional competencies through training
- Stay updated on developments in welding and NDT

- Time taken to deliver reports to the Team Leader
