About the Job:
The Murex Back Office Consultant will be part of the GM IT Operations Squad responsible for delivering IT services to the Global Markets Operations team. The squad focuses on support, change requests, and projects related to Global Markets Operations. Key responsibilities include engaging with business stakeholders, conducting analysis, developing requirements, reviewing technical and functional designs, building and testing solutions, and ensuring successful project closure through ownership and accountability.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and document user requirements, translating them into Functional Specifications.
  • Act as the key liaison with Global Markets Operation teams, IT teams, and vendors.
  • Actively participate in discussions with business stakeholders, understanding their needs and transforming them into change or project initiatives.
  • Define system and data requirements, validating system design and processes from both functional and technical perspectives.
  • Develop and refine various business/functional/testing requirements in support of projects and systems, collaborating with vendors as necessary.
  • Configure solutions according to requirements.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for the Murex suite of tools used within Operations, ensuring full utilization of product capabilities.
  • Create test plans, test cases, and execute system testing.
  • Contribute to user training activities through discussions and preparation of training materials.
  • Follow up with vendor support to resolve bugs/issues.
  • Ensure technical and functional handover of projects and changes to relevant teams.
  • Assist in developing business and operational processes, as well as system training artifacts when required.

Mandatory Skills:

  • 7-9 years of total working experience, with a minimum of 5 years in Murex Operations and hands-on experience in back-office workflow (contracts, events, deliverables, exchange), MXML development, and configuration.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in a bank or IT company implementing and supporting Murex v3.1, particularly with back-office capabilities.
  • Excellent knowledge of Capital Markets products and processes, front to back.
  • Strong understanding of financial markets, trading, and banking solutions.
  • Good exposure to Murex Static Data, Operations processes, and swift message configurations.
  • Broad functional knowledge across various asset classes including Credit Derivatives, Interest Rate Derivatives, Equity Derivatives, Fixed Income, FX Cash/Derivatives, and Commodities.
  • Strong knowledge of Global Markets products and practices, including pricing, limit checks, booking, risk management, accounting generation, and confirmations.
  • Proven track record of liaising with stakeholders to gather business requirements, create specification documents, and conduct testing.
  • Strong numerical skills, with the ability to perform well under pressure.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
