Position

The Murex Back Office Consultant will be part of the GM IT Operations Squad responsible for providing IT services to the Global Markets Operations team. This squad oversees support, change requests, and projects related to Global Markets Operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with business stakeholders, conduct analysis, develop requirements, and review technical and functional designs.
  • Build and test solutions, ensuring proper closure of various initiatives by taking ownership/accountability end to end.
  • Analyze and document user requirements, transposing them into functional specifications.
  • Act as a key liaison with Global Markets Operation teams, IT teams, and vendors.
  • Define systems and data requirements, validating systems design and processes from functional and technical aspects.
  • Develop and refine business, functional, and testing requirements in support of projects and systems, collaborating with vendors as needed.
  • Configure solutions based on requirements and serve as the subject matter expert for the Murex suite of tools used within Operations.
  • Create test plans and test cases, execute system testing, and contribute to user training activities.
  • Follow up with vendor support as necessary to resolve bugs/issues and ensure technical and functional handover of projects and changes to relevant teams.
  • Assist in developing business and operational processes and participate in creating system training artifacts when required.

Mandatory Skills:

  • 7-9 years of working experience with a minimum of 5 years in Murex Operations, with expertise in back-office workflows, MXML development, and hands-on configuration experience.
  • Relevant work experience in a bank or IT company is essential, particularly with Murex v3.1 in back-office capabilities.
  • Strong knowledge of Capital Markets products and processes, along with a solid understanding of financial markets, trading, and banking solutions.
  • Experience with Murex static data management and operations processes including MxML Exchange, post-trade, and pre-trade workflows.
  • Proficiency in configuring SWIFT messages (MT300, MT320, MT60X, MT54X, MT202, MT103, etc.).
  • Extensive knowledge of various asset classes such as Credit Derivatives, Interest Rate Derivatives, Equity Derivatives, Fixed Income, FX Cash, FX Derivatives, Commodities, and Structured Derivatives.
  • Strong numerical skills and the ability to perform well under pressure and tight deadlines, with proven track record of liaising with stakeholders effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
