The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for the day-to-day management and maintenance of network devices. This role ensures high availability of network operations, maintains the integrity of configuration baselines, meets Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and controls operational incidents.

Responsibilities:

  • Derive configurations from low to high-level designs and change requests.
  • Manage project operational requirements and engage proactively with the Project Management Office, Design Authority, and external suppliers/vendors to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Conduct Acceptance Testing post-implementation of projects.
  • Maintain LAN/WAN and Telephony infrastructure/devices, including virtual private networks, firewalls, and email gateway security.
  • Supervise the installation of new hardware equipment and implement changes with or without service delivery assistance.
  • Maintain and own configuration of various network devices, managing modifications as per change management policy.
  • Keep up-to-date documentation regarding current infrastructure design, assets, and topology.
  • Monitor capacity-sizing changes and notify vendors and IT management as needed.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer/IT Network Engineering or Computer Science.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in the field.
  • Understanding of technology areas including Routing and Switching (Cisco, Juniper, HP), Network Security (L2/L3), Firewalls & IPS/IDS (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Barracuda, Forcepoint), Network Access Control (Aruba & Cisco), Wireless Infrastructure, Telephony/VoIP Infrastructure, VPN Technologies (IPSEC, MPLS, SSL), and Cloud networking technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Additional Requirements:

  • Working knowledge and/or accreditation in Networking (CCIE, CCNP, CCNA) and IT Operations Management (ITIL Foundation).
  • Ability to work in a highly pressurized environment.
  • Strong written and oral English communication and documentation skills, with the ability to influence at a management level.
  • Proven problem diagnosis and troubleshooting skills.
  • Willingness to work out of hours as required.
  • Commitment to ongoing skill development and technology enhancement related to project requirements.
