Network IT Security Consultant

We are seeking an IT Network Security Consultant with a robust understanding of network security concepts, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and Network Access Control (NAC). The ideal candidate will be familiar with network segmentation and micro-segmentation, and possess knowledge of Zero Trust Architecture and secure network design principles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement and manage security solutions such as VPNs, email gateways, NAC, and firewalls.
• Conduct audits and maintain compliance with regulations such as ISO 27001 and NIST.
• Identify and respond to network-based threats, utilizing log analysis and threat hunting techniques.
• Utilize security tools and technologies including firewalls (e.g., Cisco ASA, Palo Alto), IDS/IPS (e.g., Snort, Suricata), and SIEM solutions (e.g., Splunk).

Required Experience:

• 3–5+ years in IT network security operations, administration, and support roles.
• Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals, including the OSI model and TCP/IP stack.
• Hands-on experience with packet capture tools (e.g., Wireshark) and vulnerability scanners (e.g., Nessus).

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• Mandatory/Preferred certifications: Cisco CCNA/CCNP Security, Fortinet NSE, Palo Alto PCNSA, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH).
• Strong communication, documentation, critical thinking, and teamwork abilities.

Language Requirements:
Strong communication skills in English are preferred.

Security Principles:
Deep understanding of security concepts as they apply to network devices, including firewall rules and VPNs. Strong familiarity with NCA controls and audit requirements is essential.
