Position

The NOC Engineer serves as the vigilant watch-keeper for healthcare’s IT infrastructure, responsible for proactive monitoring, triage, and first-response handling of alerts across servers, networks, security tools, applications, and data center infrastructure. This role is vital in detecting service degradation early, containing its impact on hospital operations, and expediting resolutions by engaging the appropriate L2/L3 teams as documented in runbooks. The NOC Engineer’s efforts are essential in preserving patient-care continuity, ensuring treatment timelines, and maintaining the integrity of clinical workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor production infrastructure, network, application, and security alerts 24x7.
  • Perform first-response triage on alerts, classify severity, and follow documented procedures.
  • Manage incidents in an ITSM platform, ensuring proper categorization and timely escalation.
  • Drive Major Incident Management (MIM) protocols and maintain communication during incidents.
  • Produce shift handover reports and track SLA performance.
  • Engage with vendors for hardware support and maintain operational dashboards.
  • Ensure compliance with information security policies and maintain audit logs.

Required Technical Skills:

  • Familiarity with enterprise monitoring tools (SolarWinds, PRTG, etc.) and ITSM operations (ServiceNow, BMC Remedy).
  • Basic administration skills in Windows and Linux.
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing, switching).
  • Experience with backup and replication tools as well as cloud monitoring solutions.

Required Experience:

  • At least 4 years in NOC or 24x7 service operations, preferably in a multi-vendor enterprise environment.
  • Exposure to healthcare, banking, telecom, or critical-infrastructure sectors is preferred.
  • Experience in an ITIL-based operational environment is necessary.

Required Certifications:

  • ITIL 4 Foundation
  • CompTIA Network+ or Cisco CCNA (preferrable certifications related to monitoring tools).

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or recognized diploma in Computer Science, IT, Networking, or related field.
  • Equivalent technical training and substantial NOC experience may be considered.
