Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and manage secure network architectures, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and network segmentation.
- Monitor network traffic and security events to detect, analyze, and respond to security incidents.
- Configure, manage, and troubleshoot network security devices such as firewalls, routers, switches, and load balancers.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments, risk analysis, and penetration testing, and implement remediation plans.
- Develop, implement, and enforce network security policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Collaborate with IT, SOC, and infrastructure teams to support secure system integrations and deployments.
- Investigate security breaches and incidents, perform root cause analysis, and recommend preventive measures.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, PCI-DSS).
- Maintain documentation related to network architecture, security configurations, and incident reports.
- Stay updated with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security technologies.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- 4–5 years of proven experience as a Network Security Engineer or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of networking concepts: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, and switching.
- Hands-on experience with firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco, Check Point).
- Experience with IDS/IPS, SIEM tools, VPNs, and endpoint security solutions.
- Solid understanding of network monitoring, packet analysis, and traffic inspection.
- Familiarity with cloud security (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus.
- Experience in incident response and security investigations.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
Preferred Certifications:
- CCNA / CCNP Security
- CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker)
- CISSP / CISM
- Fortinet NSE or Palo Alto Certifications
