Network Security Engineer

About the Job:
Penta Consulting is a technology service provider and leading outsourced partner helping to deliver professional and managed solutions across EMEA. We are seeking an experienced Network Security Engineer to join our client in Riyadh. This hands-on role focuses on deploying, managing, and optimizing IDS/IPS solutions with a strong emphasis on Snort v2/v3 and Cisco Firepower/IPS technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Configure and maintain Snort v2/v3 and Cisco IDS/IPS systems.
• Monitor network traffic and security logs for threat detection and response.
• Collaborate with internal teams and clients to define and implement security solutions.
• Tune detection rules and reduce false positives in IPS systems.
• Maintain network security architecture documentation.

Qualifications:

• 8+ years in network security engineering.
• Expert-level knowledge of Snort (v2/v3) and Cisco Firepower.
• Strong background in network protocols, architecture, and security operations.
• Experience with tools such as Wireshark, tcpdump, Splunk, or QRadar.
• Excellent communication skills and client-facing experience.

Preferred Certifications:

• CCIE Security
• Cisco Security Specialist
• GCIA
• GCIH
• CompTIA Security+
