Network Technician

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and ensure that our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. As a Network Technician, you will join a diverse team of engineers and specialists to deliver hardware, configuration, and fiber connectivity of interdependent scaling projects across several data center locations. You will collaborate with both internal customers and external vendors to ensure smooth project execution. This role requires a detail-oriented approach, strong communication skills, and significant experience in supporting large-scale enterprise-class networks.

Key Responsibilities

• Working closely with our Network Engineering & Network Technical Project Manager teams to ensure fast, smooth rollout of established designs and products.
• Managing work priorities through a ticketing system and workflows, and collaborating with various stakeholders to remove project obstacles.
• Troubleshooting networking, routing, and interconnectivity issues, including network device configuration and low-level application interaction.
• Addressing cabling infrastructure connectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords.
• Specifying power and cooling requirements and ensuring hardware racking/stacking is completed for new equipment.
• Completing customer requests via the Remedy trouble ticketing system and project management workflows.
• Participating in the migration, basic configuration, and rollout of new or upgraded hardware.

Basic Qualifications

• Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair.
• Experience in networking.
• Bachelor's degree in information technology or computer science.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure.
