NOC Network Security Engineer - L1

We are seeking an NOC Network Security Engineer - L1 to join our IT operations team. The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of network and security, along with a strong desire to grow and develop their technical skills in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment. The NOC Network Security Engineer - L1 will be the first point of contact for monitoring and responding to alerts, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring the stability and performance of the network and security systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitoring and Incident Detection: Continuously monitor network and security using SolarWinds. Respond to alerts and incidents, ensuring quick detection and resolution of issues. Escalate issues to L2 or L3 engineers as necessary.
• Initial Troubleshooting: Perform troubleshooting on network and security issues, including switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers, MPLS and WAN links. Use remote tools to access and troubleshoot devices.
• Incident Management: Categorize incidents based on severity. Ensure timely communication with stakeholders regarding updates until the issue is resolved.
• Network and System Maintenance: Assist in routine maintenance tasks, including applying patches and performing health checks on network devices.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain up-to-date documentation of network topology and configurations. Generate reports on network performance and incidents.
• Collaboration and Communication: Work with L2 and L3 engineers to resolve complex issues and improve network reliability. Participate in team meetings for knowledge sharing.
• Shift Work and On-Call Support: Be willing to work in a 24/7 shift environment, providing support as part of the NOC team, including on-call rotations.

Required Qualifications:

• Experience: 3+ years in monitoring network and security operations.
• Technical Skills: Experience in troubleshooting network/security devices including switches, routers, and firewalls. Proficient with monitoring tools (SolarWinds) and incident management (ServiceNow).
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Certifications: CISCO CCNA/Security or equivalent; SolarWinds certifications preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in a 24/7 operations environment, particularly in a NOC.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes, especially incident and problem management.
• Knowledge of cloud environments like AWS and Azure.

Language Requirements:

• Proficiency in English (additional languages may be beneficial).

Location: Abu Dhabi Emirate, United Arab Emirates
Work Conditions: Full-time, On-site, 24/7 shift environment.
