Node.js Developer

About the Job:

Virtusa is seeking a Node.js Developer with a strong background in software development. The ideal candidate will possess a degree or postgraduate qualification in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent industry experience, along with a minimum of 5 years of coding experience in Node.js, JavaScript, and databases. Candidates should have at least 1 year of hands-on experience in TypeScript.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop scalable and highly-available RESTful APIs using Node.js technologies.
• Utilize GraphQL and have practical experience with CI/CD principles.
• Solve and troubleshoot issues in distributed service ecosystems while understanding containerization (with Docker and Kubernetes).
• Handle API gateway integrations, such as 3Scale.
• Implement Single-Sign-On or token-based authentication (Rest, JWT, oAuth).
• Manage task/message queues, including AWS, Microsoft Azure, Pushpin, and Kafka.

Functional Skills:

• Adhere to coding, security, unit testing, and documentation standards and practices.
• Preferably have experience in banking, financial, and fintech environments.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and quality assurance of architectural designs across the organization.
• Research and benchmark technology against other best-in-class technologies.

Soft Skills:

• Ability to influence multiple teams on technical considerations and enhance productivity.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently while collaborating effectively with teams.
• Excellent interpersonal skills capable of interacting with and presenting ideas to senior and executive management.
