As an Observability Engineer (AppDynamics and Splunk) in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, you will be responsible for delivering enterprise observability solutions tailored to customer needs. Your role involves designing, deploying, configuring, integrating, and optimizing Cisco AppDynamics and Splunk platforms, ensuring comprehensive monitoring, logging, alerting, dashboards, and operational visibility for business-critical services.

You will engage with customer application, infrastructure, operations, security, and service management teams throughout the entire project lifecycle—from requirements gathering to solution design, implementation, testing, and operational handover. Additionally, you will support pre-sales activities by conducting workshops, proof-of-concepts (POCs), technical demonstrations, and solution validation exercises.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deploy and configure Cisco AppDynamics and Splunk solutions within customer environments.
  • Support implementation across multiple projects.
  • Conduct technical workshops and gather requirements with customers.
  • Design observability solutions covering application monitoring, log analytics, dashboards, alerts, and reporting.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot AppDynamics agents and performance monitoring components.
  • Configure Splunk for data onboarding, indexes, source types, and alerting.
  • Integrate AppDynamics and Splunk with ITSM and event management platforms.
  • Create business and operational dashboards for application and operations teams.
  • Perform alert tuning and noise reduction activities.
  • Troubleshoot deployment, integration, and performance issues.
  • Prepare project deliverables, such as HLDs, LLDs, SOPs, and training material.
  • Ensure project delivery aligns with scope and timelines.

To Thrive in This Role, You Need to Have:

  • Hands-on experience with Cisco AppDynamics and Splunk.
  • Knowledge of application agents, health rules, and performance reports.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and understanding of observability concepts.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, middleware, databases, and microservices.
  • Excellent analytical and stakeholder management skills.

Academic Qualifications and Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related field.
  • AppDynamics and Splunk certifications preferred, along with ITIL.
  • Cloud certifications (Azure, AWS) are advantageous.

Required Experience:

  • Proven experience implementing AppDynamics and Splunk solutions in a System Integrator or Managed Services environment.
  • Experience conducting workshops and producing project documentation.
  • Coordination experience with customers, vendors, and project teams.
  • Support experience for UAT and operational handover activities.
