We are seeking an Observability Engineering Manager to lead the development of distributed tracing or service mesh products within our Observability group. As an Engineering Manager, you will manage a distributed team of engineers and oversee our observability portfolio. Your responsibilities will include organizing and leading team processes, conducting one-on-one meetings, identifying and measuring team health indicators, and representing the company at conferences. You will be expected to develop and review code while fostering a productive team environment, supporting professional growth, and ensuring high standards of operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a distributed team of engineers and its observability portfolio
- Organize and lead team processes to achieve objectives
- Conduct one-on-one meetings with team members
- Identify and measure team health indicators
- Interact with the community and represent the company at conferences
- Review code produced by other engineers
What We Are Looking For:
- Exceptional academic track record from high school and university
- Proven track record of professional experience in software delivery
- Professional software development experience, preferably in open source
- Willingness to travel up to 4 times a year for internal events
- Fluency in professional written and spoken English
- Experience with Linux (preferably Debian or Ubuntu)
- Excellent interpersonal skills, curiosity, flexibility, and accountability
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Passionate, self-motivated, and result-oriented
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience as an engineering manager with a track record of building high-performance teams
- Professional Python development experience
- Knowledge of Go
- Open source contribution experience
- Understanding of observability and monitoring importance
