Position

The On Wing Support DXB Safety Engineer will be responsible for key functional, business, and company objectives and report to the onsite Quality and Safety Leader. In this role, you will solve complex issues affecting the business, execute the long-term business plan, and lead the Safety Management System in the organization. You will collaborate with the larger OWS team (including Global Quality) and a cross-functional team from other organizations within the company network.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead the ICAO Safety Management System activities and drive the Safety culture at the shop and field.
  • Create a culture where Quality and Safety is at the forefront of everyone’s mind.
  • Develop and conduct SMS training for all staff.
  • Serve as the secondary interface with regulatory agencies.
  • Ensure that all Regulatory SMS and Company requirements are met.
  • Fulfill all Regulatory, Customer, and Supplier audit requirements.
  • Perform internal audits locally and at remote locations as required.
  • Develop and conduct Root Cause Analysis and Event Investigations when necessary.
  • Own the proactive Safety/SMS framework for the site.
  • Lead RCCA Execution for the shop and facilitate best practice sharing with other shops within the OWS network and the wider company Quality Organization.

Required Qualifications

  • Aeronautical Engineering degree or Aircraft Maintenance Engineers license.
  • Strong working knowledge of ICAO Annex 19 and ICAO 9859 requirements.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in an EASA Part 145 Aviation Compliance Monitoring/SMS Department.
  • Experience working with aviation regulatory agencies.
  • Knowledge of GCAA CAR-SMS, EASA Part 145, FAA FAR 145 procedures specifically relating to Aviation Safety Management Systems.
  • Qualified Auditor with Auditing Experience.
