About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager to oversee the end-to-end operations of our FMCG warehouse. This role is responsible for ensuring efficient warehouse performance, accurate inventory management, cost control, safety compliance, and timely order fulfillment. Responsibilities
- Manage daily warehouse operations, including receiving, put-away, storage, picking, packing, and outbound dispatch.
- Ensure smooth material flow and compliance with operational SOPs, service-level agreements, and safety standards.
- Monitor key warehouse KPIs, including order fulfillment, picking accuracy, OTIF, dock-to-stock time, and employee productivity.
- Lead and supervise warehouse supervisors, team leaders, pickers, and forklift operators.
- Plan manpower requirements, shifts, and productivity targets according to operational volumes and seasonal demand.
- Conduct performance reviews, provide coaching, and support employee development.
- Identify operational bottlenecks and implement lean warehouse practices.
- Improve picking methods, including batch, wave, and zone picking, to increase productivity.
- Support the effective utilization of warehouse management systems, automation, and process digitization.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts, stock audits, and reconciliation.
- Ensure compliance with FIFO/FEFO procedures, expiry-date controls, and damage-prevention practices.
- Coordinate with Inventory Control teams to investigate and resolve stock variances and shrinkage.
- Control warehouse operating costs, including labor, equipment, and consumables.
- Optimize warehouse space utilization and material-handling efficiency.
- Support capacity planning, layout optimization, new SKU onboarding, seasonal peaks, and volume increases.
- Ensure compliance with HSE, food safety, and applicable local regulations.
- Maintain a safe working environment and reduce workplace incidents and operational risks.
- Ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment and resolve escalated operational issues affecting service levels.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 5–10 years of experience in warehouse or operations management.
- At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial position.
- Previous experience in an FMCG warehouse or high-volume distribution environment is required.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of inbound receiving, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch operations.
- Good understanding of inventory management, FIFO/FEFO, productivity KPIs, and warehouse cost control.
- Proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and operational reporting.
- Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and people-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
