Optical Network Planning & Design Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Design, analyze, and modify network components for customer communication projects.
• Develop and evaluate network performance metrics and measurement methods.
• Conduct capacity planning for switching, routing, transmission, and signaling.
• Execute end-to-end design activities, including surveys and documentation for network deployments.
• Create high-level and low-level designs for complex network requirements.
• Utilize planning tools for capacity planning and network interface analysis.
• Prepare configurations for new network elements and troubleshoot live network issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement improvements and innovative solutions.

Key Skills and Experience:

• Must-Have:

  • 10 years of experience in network design and planning.
  • Proficiency in developing High-Level and Low-Level Designs (HLD/LLD).
  • Experience with the company DWDM/OTN 1830PSS.
  • Experience with capacity planning and network performance analysis.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in live network environments.
  • Solid understanding of advanced network planning tools.

• Nice-To-Have:

  • Experience with project management and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Familiarity with emerging networking technologies and trends.
  • Proficiency in programming/scripting for network automation.
  • Knowledge of economic and population growth studies related to network demand.
  • Ability to engage with stakeholders at various organizational levels.
