The Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Product Solutions Engineering team is looking for an experienced and motivated Software Development Engineer to design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs and other systems for OCI’s Dedicated Region Cloud @Customer (DRCC) and Oracle Alloy customers. This is an opportunity to help build a competitive offering from its nascency and extend the reach of OCI to address green field opportunities across the globe. You will work with a talented group of software developers, technical program managers, and a diverse set of cross-functional stakeholders designing scalable, highly available cloud services in a world-class cloud development environment. For this engineering role we are seeking an individual with experience and capabilities in full stack software development, software validation, debugging and documentation in a DevOps approach using modern tools and languages. We seek individuals with evolved soft skills in addition to technical acumen. Excellent communication and the ability to collaborate with others are hallmarks. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in the area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to the functional area. 5+ years of software engineering or related experience.

Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience on DevOps Tools/Skills, Programming/Scripting language (Bash/shell, Python, Java, pl/sql, etc.) and full stack development
- Ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.
- Strong grasp of Computer Science concepts (data structures, algorithms, and programming paradigms)
- Writes correct, secure, maintainable, robust code and appropriate tests
- Collaborates on planning and identifying and mitigating risks in their project
- Experience with components of modern infrastructure like service discovery, secret storage, containerization, software-defined networking, etc.
- Drives operational readiness & excellence of their features & subsystems.
- Able to effectively communicate technical ideas verbally and in writing (technical proposals, design specs, architecture diagrams, and presentations)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience architecting services on OCI, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Hands-on experience building large scale services through the entire software development lifecycle
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information in a clear, concise manner to all audiences
- Results-driven; thrives in a development environment that is agile, collaborative and in start-up mode, even when faced with ambiguity
- Trusted to serve as a specialized escalation point for operations events
- Develops new metrics and dashboards to improve situational awareness
- Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks, etc. Career Level - IC3
Responsibilities
The job requires you to be well accustomed to different DevOps tools and technologies. An aptitude towards fast learning, adapting to frequent changes, and motivation towards automation of everything programming/scripting knowledge is a must. You should be motivated to work in an independent environment, curious to learn and implement new tools/technologies with the confidence to work and fix any technical issue that comes along.
