Key Responsibilities
- Database Administration: Install, configure, and maintain Oracle database systems. Monitor and optimize database performance, ensuring high availability and reliability. Perform regular database backups and recovery procedures.
- Application Support: Provide support for Oracle applications, including troubleshooting and resolving issues. Assist in the development and deployment of Oracle-based applications. Collaborate with application developers to design and optimize database schemas.
- Performance Tuning: Conduct performance tuning and optimization of Oracle databases and applications. Analyze and resolve performance bottlenecks and database-related issues.
- Security Management: Implement and enforce database security policies and procedures. Manage user access and permissions, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
- Upgrades and Patch Management: Plan and execute database upgrades and patches. Ensure compliance with software updates and security patches.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, procedures, and policies. Generate and present regular reports on database performance and health.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an Oracle DBA or in a similar role.
- Extensive experience with Oracle Database (versions 11g, 12c, 18c, 19c, or higher)
- Proficient in SQL and PL/SQL programming.
- Strong understanding of database architecture, design, and management.
- Experience with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, ASM, and RMAN.
- Knowledge of Oracle ERP applications (e.g., Oracle E-Business Suite) is a plus.
- Familiarity with operating systems (Linux, Unix, Windows) and shell scripting.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Oracle Certified Master (OCM) is preferred.
