PAUT Supervisor

About the Role
The position involves a strong emphasis on safety practices and environmental protection while carrying out advanced non-destructive testing (NDT) tasks. The role requires a proactive approach to maintaining a safe work environment for oneself and others, ensuring that all necessary precautions are adhered to and that appropriate safety devices are utilized. The job entails performing advanced NDT jobs in compliance with approved procedural requirements and ensuring effective collaboration with crew leaders and site coordinators.

Key Responsibilities

• Take all precautions to protect the environment.
• Ensure self-safety as well as the safety of co-workers by following established safety protocols.
• Participate in daily toolbox talks and follow instructions from site coordinators and crew leaders.
• Use and maintain all safety devices provided for the execution of delegated jobs.
• Maintain and use all tools properly and utilize the right tools for the task.
• Support fellow employees in fostering a safety-focused work environment.
• Report to work in appropriate clothing that does not pose a hazard.
• Perform work in a safe and alert manner, remaining aware of potential unseen dangers or situations.
• Do not put oneself or others at risk in performance of duties.
• Keep work area clean and maintain proper housekeeping.
• Perform advanced NDT jobs such as tube inspection, tank floor inspection, and guided wave applications in accordance with approved procedural requirements.
• List required probes and accessories for various advanced NDT techniques based on scope and application.
• Interpret data accurately, avoiding false calls.
• Prepare final inspection reports as per approved procedural requirements.
• Conduct inspection activities based on project scope and site conditions to minimize waiting and resource wastage.
• Interpret troubleshooting methods for maintenance of advanced NDT equipment.
• Troubleshoot problems with all advanced NDT equipment as they arise.

Job Objectives

• Skill in preparation of procedures, scan plans, setup, and demonstration in Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT) and Time of Flight Diffraction (TOFD).
• Skilled in understanding code and client requirements.
• Proficient in interpretation and leading PAUT teams.

Experience

• 5 to 7 years of experience in NDT, specifically ISO 9712 or PCN Level 3 in PAUT, with rich experience in performance and demonstration in phased array for various applications.

Certification

• ISO 9712 or PCN Level 3 in PAUT.

Education

• Minimum degree required with good communication skills.
