Position

The Payload Embedded Software Engineer will be injected in the SAR Payload System Engineering team with the task to support the definition of a variety of embedded flight software applications from the architecture, design, implementation, and validation of the Payload Flight Software. In the initial stage, the successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team of national young engineers with the purpose of receiving adequate training on how to develop the necessary skills to monitor the operations of a SAR Payload. The training will last for 24 months and will take place for 14 consecutive months at International Partner premises in Europe. This entry-level role is ideal for engineers who thrive on exploration, challenge assumptions, and aren’t afraid to experiment with bold ideas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be part of the UAE ToK team with the aim to acquire the necessary theoretical and practical competences to autonomously cover the position in future programs.
  • Acquire the necessary skills to work in an integrated and multidisciplinary team.
  • Acquire knowledge on the requirements management.
  • Support mission analysis & requirements after the completion of the training.
  • Specify software functions in accordance with mission requirements in interaction with the Platform OBC Team.
  • Manage Payload embedded software functions and interfaces.
  • Support sub-system Assembly, Integration, and Test activities.
  • Support Satellite testing: EGSE, Test supervision, data analysis.
  • Support Satellite tests at MDA, at test facilities, or at supplier premises.
  • Write up subsystem Operations Manual and Operation Procedures.
  • Attend all test reviews: TRR, TRB, DRB, and NCRs.

Qualifications
Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering or related field.

Experience

  • Previous short work experience in software tools production to monitor system operations, electrical circuits design, and testing is beneficial.
