Position

The Payment Operations Supervisor – Settlement Support is responsible for assisting Finance Operations in identifying, investigating, and resolving discrepancies in the reconciliation of all Hala payment transactions (including cards and other digital payments) with the processor and/or partner banks. The role ensures the accurate and timely settlement of daily transactions, supports the finance team with operational activities impacting reconciliation. It requires strong expertise in payment operations, reconciliation processes, settlement cycles, and cross-functional collaboration to maintain smooth operations and compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Finance Operations in identifying and resolving discrepancies in the reconciliation of all Hala payment transactions (cards and other digital payments) with the processor and/or partner banks, maintaining proper documentation for all exceptions.
  • Coordinate with Finance Operations to ensure accurate and timely daily net settlement of card transactions with schemes (e.g., Visa, Mada) via partner banks.
  • Analyze transaction data and scheme invoices to assist Finance in budgeting and forecasting revenues and expenses related to card and payment operations.
  • Prepare, validate, and deliver accurate reports related to card activities and payment transactions to regulatory bodies and partners (e.g., SAMA, Visa, Apple Pay), ensuring full compliance with reporting requirements and deadlines.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams (Product, Finance, Risk, Compliance) to resolve operational issues, strengthen internal controls, and continuously enhance reconciliation and settlement processes through automation, better reporting, and clear documentation.
  • Provide timely and accurate support during internal and external audits by supplying required data, clarifications, and evidence related to settlement and reconciliation activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in payment operations, reconciliation, or financial settlement—preferably in the fintech, banking, or digital payments sector.
  • Strong understanding of card schemes (Visa, Mada), digital transaction flows, and settlement cycles.
  • Knowledge in reconciliation tools and reporting platforms.
  • High attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a proven ability to resolve discrepancies effectively.
  • Very good communication skills in English and Arabic, with the ability to coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Experience with regulatory requirements related to card payments (e.g., SAMA reporting and Visa requirements) is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on continuous process improvement.
