The PCBA Production Lead is responsible for ensuring that work orders are completed within the time period defined by the Planning Office in accordance with company procedures and relevant standards. The incumbent must ensure that all team members are trained, apply best practices, complete allocated work orders on time, and drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
- Manage production floor activities including manufacturing, maintenance, quality, and staff training and development.
- Act as the link between management and operators, ensuring that top-level strategies are translated into practical shop floor actions while maintaining confidentiality.
- Plan and monitor the day-to-day running of operations to ensure smooth progress.
- Conduct daily production meetings to ensure alignment throughout the production floor.
- Ensure production and quality KPIs are met and perform root cause analysis when targets are not achieved.
- Work with the production planning team to assign, reallocate, or adjust the work order schedule in accordance with available resources and capacity.
- Understand, integrate, and develop PCB Assembly processes and equipment.
- Routinely review the work-in-progress of team members to ensure compliance with work instructions and processes.
- Identify opportunities and implement solutions for continual improvement of the assembly processes, lean initiatives, and product quality.
- Champion digital tools and automation to improve traceability, reporting, and efficiency on the shop floor.
- Work closely with store, material planner, supply chain, and procurement teams to address material shortages, reduce downtime, and maintain smooth production flow.
- Encourage knowledge sharing by creating SOPs, process validation and verification, best practice documents, and on-the-job training resources.
- Promote a problem prevention mindset focusing on root cause elimination instead of repeated troubleshooting.
- Ensure product conformity to customer requirements, IPC specifications, and other relevant quality standards.
- Enforce company policies and safety regulations relating to Security, Health and Safety (HSE) while leading by example with positive reinforcement.
- Communicate objectives and targets, process changes, evaluate performance, and implement improvement measures and interventions.
- Enforce compliance with the requirements of the Production Control Plan (PCP) to ensure ZERO defects against IPC Class 3 compliance.
- Provide feedback to production and process engineering for manufacturability and improvements.
- Ensure that the maintenance team conducts production readiness reviews of each equipment prior to production, takes corrective actions to resolve problems, and liaises with OEMs to find long-term solutions.
- Ensure that the entire shop floor (all personnel) complies with the requirements of the 5S.
Requirements
- Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Discipline.
- 5 years of progressive experience in a PCB Assembly manufacturing environment in a supervisory capacity.
- Overall 10 years of experience in PCB Assembly manufacturing and production.
- Defence manufacturing and production experience is essential.
Specific Job Competencies
- Knowledge of the relevant IPC standards.
- In-depth understanding of PCB Assembly processes.
- Application of the HIRAC, Continuous Improvement principles, and Human Resource management practices.
- Knowledge of Six Sigma, lean, or Industry 4.0 tools.
- Experience in defense, aerospace, or other high-reliability electronics.
- Relevant software packages.
