The company is seeking a talented Planning Engineer to perform a planning and scheduling role on major RTA projects. What You'll Be Doing:
- Review and convey the Engineer’s consent to the Contractors’ Baseline schedule of works in accordance with Contract conditions, using the company Recommended Practices.
- Validate compatibility of project resources to ensure timely completion of the project.
- Develop a Master Schedule that integrates multiple packages, considering their interdependencies to reflect the impact of one schedule/project on others.
- Identify potential risks and conflicts with strong foreseeability, documenting them in the Project Risk Register.
- Evaluate and verify planning and scheduling information from updated progress schedules, identifying potential areas of delay/slippage and suggesting mitigation measures or corrective actions.
- Conduct “What if” analysis to assess time impacts of changes, variations, and potential events, providing alternative actions and advice before issuing contractor instructions.
- Prepare regular progress reports and monthly reports with program analysis and recommendations to address program issues for timely project completion, including presentations on progress regarding interim and major milestones.
- Detailed assessment of claims, including Extension of Time and Disruption, using leading delay analysis methodologies such as time impact and window analysis.
- Discuss, coordinate, and resolve planning and scheduling issues with the contractor and the Employer.
- Coordinate with the Client to finalize contractor programs, reports, and claims.
- Attend various meetings, including kick-off, technical, and progress review meetings, providing valuable input and preparing concise minutes.
- Prepare Trackers/Logs to monitor critical issues during the Design and Construction stages of the project.
- Agree on the progress measurement system (PMS) and key performance indicators with consultants and contractors during the project.
- Communicate effectively to conduct presentations to management and interface with diverse professionals, providing analytic responses to contractor notices using programming data and contractual provisions.
- Maintain proper record keeping of project contemporary records.
- Issue delay notices for the contractor’s culpable delays and slow performance letters for performance issues.
- Manage a team of one or more planning engineers, providing technical and leadership skills.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction management from a recognized university/institution.
- Minimum of 8+ years of experience in planning and scheduling on relevant projects.
- Extensive experience in working on major infrastructure projects, including highways, road improvements, utilities, underpasses, and bridges, along with a strong understanding of the construction industry and coordination requirements.
- Proficiency in scheduling software, particularly Primavera P6.
