The Planning Engineer is responsible for the implementation and monitoring of engineering design stages planning processes. The role involves reviewing and monitoring consultant design plans and authority approvals to ensure alignment between construction and design plans. The Planning Engineer ensures the efficient delivery of design engineering to maintain construction progress without delays. Additionally, the position includes monitoring the procurement process to ensure that materials are delivered to the site as per construction plans and coordinating between construction needs and consultants to deliver all requirements on time.

Job Responsibilities
- Provide project planning/scheduling support and manage a small team of planners.
- Manage project schedules in accordance with the project work breakdown structure and ensure that project schedules are developed.
- Regularly update project plans to maintain a level of certainty that allows effective monitoring, forecasting, and control.
- Produce schedules for pre-design, design, tender and award, procurement, construction, and completion to reflect project and contractual requirements in compliance with planning procedures.
- Analyze project requirements and prepare resource and cost-loaded planning schedules.
- Produce resource histograms for manpower, material, and submittals.
- Evaluate and analyze progress through updated status reports based on the contract schedule to provide performance assessments and accurate forecasts.
- Coordinate and liaise with project managers to update the detailed works program.
- Coordinate and liaise with subcontractors and authorities regarding planning and programming matters for the various interfaces on the project.
- Collaborate with the Project Director/Manager on different scenarios to simulate in the schedule and prepare “What if Analysis.”
- Review and evaluate subcontractor schedules and reports, recommending necessary actions to align subcontracted items with the contract schedule.
- Prepare the progress monitoring portion of the monthly report, including monthly schedule updates for incorporation into the monthly progress report submitted to the client and management.
- Participate in progress and coordination meetings to discuss the project status.
- Support the implementation of HSE initiatives, participate in safety awareness activities, and contribute to incident reporting and resolution in alignment with company and IMS policies.
Job Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of engineering fundamentals.
- Familiarity with principles of planning and data collection.
- Proficiency with planning software, preferably Advance Primavera 6.
- Understanding of local and international standards in construction.
- ERP knowledge, preferably SAP functional skills, are required for success in this role.
Job Experience
- Minimum of 8 years working experience, including 5 years of relevant working experience, with an additional 2 years in the GCC being a plus.

Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field.
