Post-Doctoral Associate in the Division of Engineering

The Division of Engineering (Civil and Urban Engineering) at the company is seeking a post-doctoral associate to engage in research focusing on infrastructure systems and the environment under the supervision of Dr. Ahmad Bin Thaneya. This position will involve leading collaborative research efforts that examine the interplay between infrastructure, climate, and human health.

Key responsibilities for the Post-doctoral Associate include:

• Developing optimization models to analyze and mitigate fine particulate matter (PM2.5) exposure from different infrastructure systems such as transportation networks and manufacturing systems.
• Evaluating the importance of the intake fraction as a key metric for the design, management, and policymaking related to infrastructure.
• Studying additional PM2.5 exposure sources from transportation systems in light of electric vehicle adoption, addressing emissions from electricity generation and related areas.
• Conducting life-cycle uncertainty assessments regarding building materials, carbon sinks, and alternative low-carbon fuel sources.

Candidates should have a robust theoretical foundation and skills in infrastructure systems modeling, emissions inventory development, air quality modeling, exposure assessment, and life-cycle assessment. The post-doctoral associate will be expected to lead substantial research efforts and contribute to publications in high-quality academic journals.
