Post-Doctoral Associate in the Division of Engineering (Electrical Engineering – Applied Interactive Multimedia)

The Applied Interactive Multimedia laboratory in the Division of Engineering at New York University Abu Dhabi is seeking a motivated research or postdoctoral associate to lead the design, development, and validation of materials, control systems, and algorithms for next-generation soft haptic actuators and experiences. This research involves significant collaboration with material science experts. The developed technologies will be utilized for creating digital twin and soft robot-assisted simulations in areas such as brain-machine interaction, wearable haptics, and rehabilitation.

Location: New York University Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi Emirate, United Arab Emirates
Work Conditions: On-site, Full-time
Language Requirements: Proficiency in English

Qualifications:

• PhD degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Material Engineering (or related field) OR 3-5 years of industry experience in Research and Development.
• Significant experience in haptic technologies.
• Hands-on experience in lab building and rapid prototyping of novel proof of concepts (extensive on-site lab work required).
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work as a team player with good communication skills.
