Post-Doctoral Associate in the Division of Engineering (RISC)

The Robotics and Intelligent Systems Control Laboratory (RISC) at New York University Abu Dhabi is seeking a Post-Doctoral Associate to conduct research primarily focused on Reinforcement Learning (RL), Optimal Control, and Model Predictive Control. Applicants should possess a degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field.

The successful candidate will be tasked with designing controllers for complex systems, including humanoids, quadrupeds, and omnidirectional drones. These controllers will be grounded in principles such as RL and MPC, and will contribute to the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) within robotics. Candidates are expected to publish their findings in top-tier conferences and journals, including the Control and Decision Conference (CDC) and the International Conference on Automation and Robotics (ICRA). Experience with control systems, autonomous robots, the Robot Operating System, and physics engine simulators is preferred.
