Post-Doctoral Associate in the Division of Engineering (RISC) - Dr. Anthony Tzes

The Robotics and Intelligent Systems Control Laboratory (RISC) at the company invites applications for a Post-doctoral Associate position. This role primarily focuses on research in Reinforcement Learning, Optimal Control, and Model Predictive Control. The successful applicant will design controllers for complex systems, including humanoids, quadrupeds, and omnidirectional drones, utilizing techniques in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and control.

Location: Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi Emirate, United Arab Emirates
Work Conditions: On-site, Full-time

Responsibilities:

• Develop controllers based on Reinforcement Learning (RL), Model Predictive Control (MPC), or other optimization methodologies.
• Publish research findings in reputable conferences and journals, such as the Control and Decision Conference (CDC) and the International Conference on Automation and Robotics (ICRA).

Qualifications:

• A degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or closely related fields.
• Required experience with control systems, including design of RL and MPC.
• Preferred experience working with autonomous robots and proficiency in the Robot Operating System and/or Physics Engine Simulators.
