The New York University Abu Dhabi Computational Approaches to Modeling Language (CAMeL) Lab seeks to hire a post-doctoral researcher to work in various lab research areas, contributing to the development of open-source tools and resources, and engaging in publications related to their work. CAMeL's mission emphasizes research and education in artificial intelligence, specifically targeting natural language processing, computational linguistics, and data science. The lab primarily focuses on Arabic natural language processing (including orthography normalization, grammatical error correction, morphology tagging, syntax parsing, readability assessment), machine translation, and text analytics.

Since its inception in 2014, the CAMeL Lab has produced over 180 publications and 20 language resources and tools. The position will be filled at the rank of Post-Doctoral Associate (within 3 years of PhD) or Research Associate (more than 3 years of PhD).
Work Conditions: Full-time, On-site in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong preference for candidates with degrees in computer science or computer engineering, or degrees in computational linguistics/language technologies.
- Proven experience in natural language processing.
- Proficient programming skills and experience in machine learning.
- A research publication record commensurate with the hiring rank.
- Knowledge of the Arabic language is preferred but not required. Experience in Arabic NLP is also preferred but not mandatory.
Employment Terms:
