Postdoctoral Associate – IC Design for Self-powered Stimulation Implants

About the Job: The position involves research focused on developing an implantable self-powered cardiac stimulation system. This system aims to harvest energy from heart motion, manage power, facilitate wireless communication, and record cardiac activities. Key components include a stretchable transducer that converts movement to electricity, an integrated circuit (IC) for power management, and a programmable electrical stimulator that targets heart tissue. The project also includes the design, fabrication, and experimental validation of ICs featuring energy harvesting, stimulation, recording, communication, and power management functionalities, with potential applications in cardiac, brain, and peripheral nerve stimulation.

Responsibilities:

• Development (design, implementation, and validation) of the proposed IC and system components.
• Testing of the system in animal models.
• Individualized research projects under faculty supervision.

Essential Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or relevant disciplines.
• Experience with IC tape-out.

Preferred Experience:

• PCB design.
• Embedded software for microcontrollers.
• Animal experiments.
