Oivan is looking for an experienced and highly skilled Senior Database Architect (PostgreSQL, MongoDB) to join our team. We seek a Senior Database Administrator with at least 3 years of experience providing 24/7 support to critical database environments. This role involves managing PostgreSQL and MongoDB clusters, ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance, while maintaining stringent security standards. The candidate will work with the engineering and DevOps teams to ensure that the most appropriate and well-designed database environments are established, and that the right architectural and design decisions are made. Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, configure, and manage PostgreSQL and MongoDB clusters.
- Plan and execute the migration of databases with minimal downtime and complete data integrity.
- Design and refine database architecture for optimal performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks through configuration tuning, indexing, query optimization, and resource utilization.
- Automate tasks such as backups, monitoring, and deployments.
- Apply security measures to safeguard data.
- Ensure high availability through replication and failover strategies.
- Implement monitoring systems to track database health.
- Conduct periodic disaster recovery drills.
- Maintain documentation and prepare presentations and reports.
Requirements:
- Strong PostgreSQL DBA experience and skills.
- Hands-on operational expertise in databases, high availability, replication, and performance tuning.
- Experience in PostgreSQL cluster environments, including installations and connection pooling.
- Knowledge of cloud technologies and SQL architecture/HADR setups.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
