Responsibilities
- Acts as the technical focal point at the site for implementation, tuning, and maintenance of software for one or more power system applications (Real-Time Network Applications such as RTNET, power flow, study applications, contingency analysis, DER and renewable forecasting, WAMS).
- Ensures quality assurance standards and procedures are followed in all aspects of application tuning.
- Consults with other technical personnel to ensure that project-related applications are configured according to best design and standards.
- Performs power system applications tuning, results analysis, defect analysis, and correction.
- Plans the implementation tasks, monitors progress and costs, and evaluates CTC (cost to complete) for assigned power system applications.
- Provides input to the delivery manager on schedules, risk evaluations, and mitigation plans related to power application tuning.
- Interfaces and develops relationships with customers and partners on general and specific issues within the area of functional expertise.
- Delivers power systems applications respecting budget, delays, quality, and customer satisfaction on projects.
- Manages customers at the site and coordinates efficiently.
- Achieves the best application results within the required time frame.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
- Power system engineering or software engineering background with a strong electrotechnical basis.
- Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms such as regression, ANN, etc.
- Must be registered with the Saudi Engineering Council.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be comfortable in technical discussions with customers (English and Arabic mandatory).
- Must have 5 to 10 years of experience in the power system domain.
How To Stand Out
- Good business and software knowledge of the power systems domain, particularly in power network modeling, network analysis, and generation control functions/applications.
- Good understanding of WAMS concepts and database operations.
- Good business knowledge of the energy domain is highly appreciated.
- Programming skills in C++, Java, or another related language are a plus.
