Power System Engineer – GridOS

A Power System Engineer is responsible for the implementation of advanced power systems applications. This includes software configuration and testing, application integration, and the tuning of the power system (e.g., Network and Generation Applications including Modular Network and Generation applications). Responsibilities also encompass forecasting, including renewable and DER forecasting, simulation frameworks, and WAMS.

Responsibilities

• Acts as the technical focal point at the site for implementation, tuning, and maintenance of software for various power system applications (e.g., Real-Time Network Application such as RTNET, Power flow, and DER and Renewable Forecasting).
• Ensures that quality assurance standards and procedures are adhered to in all aspects of application tuning.
• Consults with technical personnel to ensure that project-related applications are configured according to best design and standards guidelines.
• Plans implementation tasks, monitors progress and costs, and evaluates CTC (cost to complete) for assigned power system applications.
• Interfaces and develops relationships with customers and partners on general and specific issues within the functional expertise area.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
• 5 to 10 years of experience in the power system domain.
• Strong understanding of Machine Learning algorithms such as regression, ANN, etc.
• Must be registered with the Saudi Engineering Council.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Arabic.

How To Stand Out

• Good business and software knowledge of the power systems domain, particularly in power network modelling and generation control functions.
• Familiarity with WAMS concepts and database operations.
• Additional programming skills in C++, Java, or other related languages are preferred.
