Practice Director - SAP HANA Cloud Architect

We are seeking a highly accomplished and technically proficient SAP HANA Cloud Architect to provide strategic and hands-on expertise for our SAP Partner Managed Cloud offerings, with a focus on RISE with SAP and SAP Cloud for Customer landscapes. The role demands deep knowledge of SAP HANA database technologies, cloud infrastructure, and the architectural requirements of SAP's cloud-centric solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for architecting, designing, and governing the technical database foundation, ensuring performance, high availability, security, and scalability for our managed services clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Database Architecture & Planning:

  • Design and implement HANA Database Sizing & Capacity Planning for cloud deployments.
  • Define HANA Database Deployment/Provisioning strategies across Cloud Environments.

• Availability, Recovery & Replication:

  • Design High Availability (HA) & Disaster Recovery (DR) architecture for HANA databases.
  • Oversee HANA Backup & Recovery Strategy and manage Replication setups.

• Performance & Optimization:

  • Conduct HANA Performance Tuning & Optimization and develop Data Tiering Strategies.

• Security & Compliance:

  • Develop HANA Database Security Architecture & ensure Licensing Compliance.
  • Guarantee compliance with Data Residency/Sovereignty requirements.

• Cloud & Integration Strategy:

  • Design integration strategies for HANA Cloud Connectors and Multi-Cloud/Hybrid architectures.

• Operations & Governance:

  • Define HANA MDC/Tenant Strategy, Database Resource Consumption Governance, and patch management strategies.
  • Provide expert consultation on HANA Versioning and support for critical database-related incidents.

Qualifications:

• Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in SAP HANA, SAP Database Administration, or SAP Technical Architecture.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience architecting and managing SAP HANA databases in a cloud environment (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Proven experience with the technical aspects of RISE with SAP and/or SAP Partner Managed Cloud environments.

• Preferred Qualifications:

  • SAP Certified Technology Associate/Professional - SAP HANA or relevant Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Database - Specialty).
  • Solid understanding of system architecture, cloud networking, and security principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to varied audiences.
