The Pre-Sales Engineer is responsible for providing technical expertise and engineering support to the sales organizations, business partners, consultants, and end users. This role bridges the gap between technical solutions and customer requirements by supporting project design, product selection, technical compliance, training activities, and providing site support. Key Responsibilities
Pre-Sales & Technical Solution Support
- Prepare and verify Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for fire and life safety systems.
- Perform value engineering assessments and optimization of system designs.
- Support preparation of technical compliance statements and tender documentation.
- Evaluate and recommend project upgrade and migration strategies.
- Review and verify high-level system architecture and solution designs.
- Provide technical support during project engineering and design phases.
- Assist sales teams with solution presentations, technical clarifications, and customer engagements.
- Support business development activities by providing technical expertise for lead generation and opportunity qualification.
Consultant & Business Development Engagement
- Conduct consultant workshops for product approvals and brand acceptance.
- Deliver technical workshops and presentations to consulting firms.
- Support specification development and consultant engagement activities.
- Conduct business development presentations for consultants and end users.
- Promote product portfolios to increase market awareness and specification adoption.
Partner Development & Training
- Support onboarding and technical enablement of new Value-Added Resellers (VARs).
- Deliver product refresh and new-product training sessions to existing partners.
- Conduct certified and non-certified technical training programs.
- Provide design, engineering, and pre-sales training to business partners.
- Develop and deliver internal technical training programs for sales and engineering teams.
- Execute the Master Training Plan, including certification, refresh, and competency development programs.
Site & Technical Support
- Conduct site visits to provide technical assistance and solution guidance.
- Troubleshoot programming-related issues and provide resolution recommendations.
- Support installation reviews and provide guidance on best practices.
- Assist with the evaluation of product performance, quality concerns, and field issues.
- Support product recall, upgrade, and migration programs when required.
- Prepare technical letters, certifications, and project-related technical documentation.
Marketing & Events Support
- Provide technical support for exhibitions, seminars, roadshows, and industry events.
- Deliver product awareness presentations for customers, consultants, and end users.
- Represent the company during technical events and customer engagements.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Experience
- Entry level. Knowledge or experience in fire and life safety systems, security systems, or related technical solutions is a plus.
