As a Pre-Sales Security Solutions Architect, you will partner with the field sellers (Technical Account Managers or TAMs) within the enterprise customer segment to achieve local and corporate growth ambitions by providing technical expertise for the Qualys Platform. You will leverage a deep understanding of Qualys technologies to propose and architect solutions based on customer requirements and business needs.

Qualys Solutions Architects act as trusted advisors to customers, providing valuable insights and education on asset and vulnerability management, patching, threat detection & response, compliance, and cloud and application security by leveraging the world-class Qualys Platform. This is a senior technical role requiring close coordination and partnership with sales, Chief Technical Security Officers, product management, marketing, and partners. Typical Duties:

  • Support complex deals in the pre-sales stage alongside Qualys sellers and drive technical engagements to secure technical wins.
  • Understand and document customers' compliance and security requirements, and develop end-to-end solutions based on Qualys security solutions and partner integrations.
  • Identify new use cases for the Qualys platform by assessing gaps between customer desires and existing capabilities, showcasing how to fill those gaps.
  • Engage regularly with new prospects and existing customers to drive technical wins for new opportunities.
  • Execute high-quality proof-of-concepts/proof-of-value engagements as needed for strategic pursuits.
  • Establish trusted advisory relationships with customer technical decision makers.
  • Collaborate with field sellers on proposals that demonstrate the differentiated value of the Qualys platform.
  • Interface with product management to prioritize impactful feature requests and share ideas for new products and integrations.
  • Develop and deliver a variety of technical engagements, including workshops and architecture design sessions.
  • Stay current with developments in the Qualys portfolio and the broader security and compliance ecosystem.
  • Document and distribute technical insights to leadership to improve customer outcomes and support company goals.
  • Author blogs, whitepapers, and solution guides, representing Qualys at industry events.

Travel Requirements:
This is a technical and hands-on role that involves frequent travel to customer locations as needed (at least 30% travel).

Required Skills:

  • Self-starter with a “can-do” attitude and a passion for leveraging technology to solve security and compliance problems.
  • Experience with Qualys or other security platforms as a practitioner or in a customer success role.
  • Strong understanding of asset management, patching, vulnerability management, policy compliance, cloud and application security, and threat detection.
  • Ability to design complex architectures that address security and compliance issues.
  • Knowledge of key industry standards and frameworks for corporate security programs.
  • Familiarity with popular public cloud services such as AWS, GCP, and Azure.
  • Experience interacting with customers in a technical sales role.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
