About the Role
In this position, you will be responsible for developing and simulating Layer 2 algorithms and protocols for wireless networks and Mobile Ad-hoc Networks (MANETs). You will have the opportunity to work with a team to define logging and KPI extraction tools, design simulation scenarios, and validate algorithms using advanced network simulation tools. Your work will involve documenting simulation results, analyzing performance, and preparing reports for both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and simulate Layer 2 algorithms and protocols (MAC, LLC, Routing, Scheduling) for wireless networks and MANETs.
- Define logging/KPI extraction tools; design simulation scenarios (mobility, traffic), scripts, and performance evaluation scripts.
- Simulate and validate Layer 2 using network simulation tools such as Omnest or NS3.
- Document simulation, performance analysis, and testing procedures; prepare reports and presentations for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate with WF architect and embedded software engineers; participate in design reviews, code reviews, and troubleshooting.
Education and Minimum Qualifications
- 12+ years of experience in developing and simulating Layer 2 communication protocols/algorithms in wireless networks (MANET, WiFi, 4G/5G, etc.).
- Hands-on experience debugging and optimizing Layer 2 algorithms and protocols.
- Strong understanding of wireless communication standards and protocols (MAC/LLC/Routing/Scheduling).
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related field preferred (Ph.D. a plus).
Key Skills
- Expertise in C++, Python, Omnest (or similar wireless network simulation tools), with a good background in the physical layer for wireless communication systems.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
