About the Job
As a highly skilled Principal Cloud Security Engineer, you will join our dedicated and expanding Security team. Your mission is to safeguard Deriv, its products, and its customers by applying extensive technical expertise and leadership across a broad spectrum of security. This is not a management position; however, it comes with a level of leadership responsibility. You’ll guide and mentor the existing team in Deriv’s offices in Reading (UK), Dubai (UAE), and Cyberjaya (Malaysia), closely collaborating with the VP of Security Engineering on numerous security projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize your in-depth knowledge of AWS and GCP, including expertise in specific security services and features, to enhance the security of our cloud infrastructure.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Operations teams on security issues with a deep understanding of secure software, networks, solutions, and architectures.
• Analyze security risks associated with company projects by performing threat modeling as needed.
• Lead initiatives to enhance security awareness among employees and customers, fostering a security-conscious organization.
• Guide and mentor the existing team while fostering collaboration and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.

What You Have

• 15+ years of relevant experience, including hands-on security roles, leadership, and mentoring positions.
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• A passion for security, extensive technical experience, and the desire to contribute to a fast-paced fintech environment.
