As a Principal Consultant Engineer focusing on Advanced Process Control (APC), you will leverage deep manufacturing and business process knowledge along with an understanding of automation issues to help customers transform their businesses. You will join our professional services team, which has over 25 years of exclusive service to the process industries including oil and gas, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and consumer products.
Your Responsibilities:
- Review process flow diagrams and P&IDs to understand process operations and engage in process discussions, providing effective knowledge transfer to junior engineers.
- Lead the design, testing, and commissioning of APC applications, independently executing all project phases.
- Manage multiple APC projects with varying stages of development.
- Understand process issues influencing multivariable control design and develop control strategies while configuring multivariable control systems.
- Execute controller simulations for large scope problems and act as a technical lead on various projects.
- Assist in the configuration of controller interface databases.
What You'll Need:
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering (MS or PhD preferred; equivalent work experience will be considered).
- 8+ years of experience in Multivariable Process Control and Optimization.
- Demonstrated communication and coaching skills.
- Competence in multiple process units in Refining, Olefins, or Polymer processes.
- Proven experience in an Operating Company or in an APC Consulting Company is a plus.
- Ability to manipulate data files for data analysis.
Language Requirements:
- Fluency in English is required. Fluency in additional languages is a plus.
Travel Requirements:
- Willingness to travel at least 30% of the time for testing and commissioning activities at client sites, with no visa limitations for travel in most countries.
