As a Principal Core Infrastructure Engineer (AI/ML Forward Deployed Infrastructure Engineer), you will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and maintaining the infrastructure that supports our customers' AI and machine learning initiatives. Your role involves close collaboration with customer technical teams (data scientists, software engineers, Infra/IT professionals) and our internal cloud services team to ensure the efficient, secure deployment of AI/ML solutions at scale.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and architecture of AI/ML infrastructure focusing on performance, scalability, and security.
- Implement and maintain AI/ML infrastructure, ensuring efficient and reliable operations.
- Collaborate with customer technical teams to understand their AI/ML requirements and provide tailored solutions.
- Work with our cloud services team to integrate AI/ML solutions into our cloud platform.
- Ensure secure deployment of AI/ML models and data, adhering to industry best practices.
- Monitor and optimize AI/ML infrastructure performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
- Document and communicate infrastructure designs clearly and concisely.
- Engage with customers and stakeholders to ensure satisfaction with our AI/ML offerings.
Qualifications:
- Experience in scripting and automation using tools like Ansible, Terraform, Python, and/or Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration tools for managing distributed systems.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts, security principles, and best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in complex environments.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Proficient in documenting infrastructure designs, configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Solid Linux experience, particularly with distributions like the company Linux/RHEL/CentOS, Ubuntu, and Debian.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficient in at least one programming language such as Python, Rust, Go, Java, or Scala.
- Experience with infrastructure for AI/ML or HPC workloads.
- Familiarity with machine learning frameworks and libraries, with a focus on deployment in production environments.
- Experience with DevOps practices and tools for continuous integration, deployment, and monitoring.
- Strong experience with High-Performance Computing/GPU systems.
